WHAT IS HEMP OIL?
Our premium hemp oil is derived from CBD-rich industrial hemp. To make hemp oil, we extract the most important ingredients out of mature hemp and concentrate them into a user-friendly form. Alevas hemp oil contains:
Cannabinoids like CBD, THC (trace), CBC, and CBGTerpenes like beta-caryophyllene and pineneFlavonoids and antioxidantsOther trace compounds
While hemp oil does contain some THC, this truly trace amount doesn’t get users high and stays well under the legal limit of .3%. CBD oil’s THC component may actually amplify CBD’s beneficial effects.
Hemp oil has an amazingly rich past. Virtually every major culture in history recognized hemp’s value. From the Persians to the Egyptians to the Greeks to the Hebrews...all of them utilized hemp for both food and medicine.
In the 1800s hemp oil came to the Western world, where it was declared to be “of greatest value.” Even Queen Victoria was prescribed hemp oil! The US Pharmacopoeia acknowledged cannabis for its health benefits from 1850 to 1937.
And modern science is finally catching up. Today Dr. Ethan Russo says this about the plant family hemp belongs to:
“Cannabis is the single most versatile herbal remedy, and the most useful plant on Earth. No other single plant contains as wide a range of medically active herbal constituents.”
WHAT IS CBD?
CBD is the compound that makes hemp tick. That’s a little bit of an oversimplification — as we said, hemp contains hundreds of beneficial plant compounds!
But CBD, or cannabidiol, is the primary one. CBD is a cannabinoid that tends to promote full-body balance. It does this by gently binding to special receptors that control cellular communication. In other words, CBD works holistically.
While some cannabinoids are psychotropic, CBD is not. It won’t get anyone high! Further, our CBD-rich hemp oils contain .3% or less THC. That’s just enough to engage some compound-to-compound synergy.
WHAT IS THE ENDOCANNABINOID SYSTEM?
If you haven’t heard of the endocannabinoid system (ECS) yet, that’s perfectly all right! Up until 25 years ago, nobody had — not even the world’s best and brightest scientists.
The endocannabinoid system is a receptor system that all of us have. Much like the immune system helps protect our bodies against foreign intruders, the ECS helps our bodies stay in perfect balance. It does with the help of thousands and thousands of endocannabinoid receptors that stay in constant with signals the body products.
These signaling molecules? They’re called endocannabinoids — cannabis-like compounds we all produce internally, all the time.
This is where things get pretty special. Hemp’s cannabinoids also bind to these innate endocannabinoid receptors, promoting their own type of balance in the process! It’s almost as if hemp was tailor-made to our bodies. Think of it this way: both internally produced and plant produced cannabinoids may help our bodies communicate better...with themselves.
When hemp strengthens the endocannabinoid system, good things happen. Learn more about hemp’s beneficial properties here.
DO MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS SUPPORT THE USE OF HEMP OIL?
We at Alevas might be hemp enthusiasts at heart...but we’re not the only ones.
Dr. Sanjay Gupta was one of the first medical professionals to speak out. Chief medical correspondent for CNN, Dr. Gupta created a groundbreaking documentary called “Weed” in 2013. The documentary told the story of his own personal change of heart towards cannabis based on available research and real-life reports. Since then, the research has only gotten more convincing.
And a growing number of medical professionals are taking the same stance. According to retired cardiovascular surgeon Dr. David Allen, “the discovery of the endocannabinoid system is the single most important medical scientific discovery ever and will save more lives than the discovery and application of sterile surgical technique.”
In other words, Dr. Allen is implying that compounds which activate the endocannabinoid system can also activate health and wellness! We’d encourage you to talk to your Doctor about CBD-rich hemp oil before trying it. They just might be more enthusiastic than you think.
